What is the March Volunteer Refer-a-Friend Campaign?
The March Volunteer Refer-a-Friend Campaign is a great way to get your friends and family involved in the AT&T National Volunteer Program, and potentially win a great prize! The contest will run from March 1-31. All registered 2014 National volunteers will have the opportunity to refer their family and friends to join the volunteer force! The referred new registrants will we prompted to submit the name of the person who referred them when they are signing up. Once the new volunteer's registration is complete, the volunteer who referred that person will receive credit for the referral. At the end of the month of March, the volunteer who is responsible for the highest number of completed referral registrations will win. The prize for the winner is a day of golf at Congressional Country Club with the chairman/hole captain of their committee! Any additional questions regarding the Refer-a-Friend Campaign can be directed to Sarah Costello at 301-365-6946 or email@example.com.
HOW MANY SHIFTS DO I HAVE TO WORK?
Each volunteer is asked to work a total of three (3) full days during tournament week (24 hours). This can be four (4) six-hour shifts, three (3) eight-hour shifts, etc. You will work with the volunteer leaders in your committee to figure out your schedule once you have been placed. The amount of flexibility that your captain/chairman can give you will depend on your committee placement and the number of volunteers available for any specific shift.
HOW DO I KNOW WHICH COMMITTEE I HAVE BEEN SELECTED FOR?
As of March 1, volunteers are placed into committees on a first-come, first-serve basis. Priority is given to past volunteers who are registering for the same committee. Please note that you are not assigned a position until the tournament office has received your required volunteer payment in full. You will be contacted by your captain/chairman when the committee has been completed. You can view your placement by logging back into your volunteer registration using the username and password that you used when you signed up. Simply click Volunteer Registration under Volunteer and then enter your username and password on the left-hand side where it says "Already Registered?" You can log back into your registration at any time to make changes to your information, or to get contact information for your captain/chairman as well. Also, once your schedule has been completed, you will be able to view your scheduled shifts here as well. Call the tournament office if you need any help logging back in to your registration.
I AM A RETURNING VOLUNTEER. DO I NEED TO SIGN UP AGAIN THIS YEAR?
Yes! We need to know that you are coming back. Each volunteer is required to register online every single year.
HOW DOES THE CHAMPIONSHIP DECIDE WHICH COMMITTEE I WILL BE PLACED ON?
After March 1, committee placements are made on a first-come, first-serve basis (with priority given to past volunteers). If your first-choice committee is not available, you will be placed into your second-choice committee or your third, respectively. If none of your choices are available, we will contact you to discuss your placement.
AM I REQUIRED TO PURCHASE THE VOLUNTEER PACKAGE? HOW COME?
Yes, all volunteers are required to purchase the Volunteer Package. The AT&T National is a televised, professional golf event, and as such, must meet the standards of professional golf (i.e. proper-collared golf shirts with khaki pants -- no T-shirts or jeans). Additionally, one of our primary goals is to continue to support our surrounding communities through charitable contributions. We ask each volunteer to cover PART of the cost for their uniform so that the event can continue to support the community each year. As a thank you to our volunteers for their support and for helping us to give back, we do our best to add additional value to the Volunteer Package so that its value is evident. The current Volunteer Package is valued at about $400 and costs just $75 to purchase.
