2009 champion Tiger Woods, along with more than 100 media members and a crowd of tournament sponsors, gathered Monday at Congressional Country Club in preparation for the 2012 AT&T National, to be held June 26-July 1.
Woods was on hand to host a press conference, at which he spoke about the Tiger Woods Foundation, the tournament's primary beneficiary, and formally committed to the event. He also announced a few additional early commitments from defending champion Nick Watney as well as Hunter Mahan, Jim Furyk, K.J. Choi, Dustin Johnson, Justin Rose and amateurs Patrick Cantlay, Jordon Spieth and Kelly Kraft.
Darryl Robinson, one of the Foundation's Earl Woods Scholars attending Georgetown, Congressional VP Greg Lamb and Foundation President & CEO and Tournament Director Greg McLaughlin also spoke at the event about the tournament and its impact on the D.C. community.

Woods also participated in a closest-to-the-pin chipping contest with fans, in which Tyler Nguyen emerged victorious, beating out nine other contestants to go head-to-head with Woods, who ultimately won. Nguyen, who won the chance to compete in this contest via CBS Radio, took home VIP tickets to attend the AT&T National.
