LAS VEGAS -- The 15th annual Tiger Jam returned to Las Vegas welcoming celebrities, sponsors and rock stars for a memorable, star-studded weekend that raised more than $800,000 for the college-access programs of the Tiger Woods Foundation. After a Friday night high-stakes charity poker tournament, Kid Rock joined host Tiger Woods at the Mandalay Bay Events Center on Saturday night where he rocked the 8,000-person arena performing some of his greatest hits.
Kicking off the weekend Friday, May 17, sponsors and guests were treated to a private exhibition from Woods, followed by a round of golf at Cascata Golf Club. Kid Rock and Los Angeles Clippers star Chris Paul joined Woods on the course, receiving a private golf lesson from the world's No. 1 golfer.
After a fun day on course, poker great Phil Hellmuth took to the microphone to emcee Tiger's Poker Night presented by the World Poker Tour, a Texas Hold 'em style charity tournament. The event welcomed poker legends Doyle Brunson, Phil Ivey, Daniel Negreanu, Dan Shak and Mike Sexton who gave the pros and sponsors a run for their money. Other notable guests included Kid Rock, Mark Cuban, Mehki Phifer, Dirk Nowitzki and Paul. The competition at the tables heated up as amateur Scott Dellon took home the first-place title and the grand prize -- to play a round of golf with Woods. VIP guests who were not playing poker gathered for a Pre-Jam party at Moorea Beach Club, featuring a performance by Lifehouse.
With a successful Friday night completed, guests kicked off Saturday evening by attending an exclusive reception at House of Blues mingling over cocktails and delicious hors d'oeuvres, while participating in live and silent auctions filled with luxury items. Notable auction items included: an 18L Melchior from Fleury Estate Winery that sold for $15,000; a luxurious Caribbean yacht expedition went for $20,000; a meet and greet with Kid Rock and Tiger Woods before the concert went for $24,000 to the lucky winner.
Following the auction, guests attended a rocking performance at Mandalay Bay Events Center, opened by Uncle Kracker, and headlined by multi-platinum recording artist Kid Rock who sang some of his greatest hits including Cowboy, Born Free, Rebel Soul and Picture. After the main concert event, guests continued to celebrate the evening by returning to the House of Blues for a post-concert party.
