TWLC Golf

The Golf Program at Tiger Woods Learning Center utilizes golf as a vehicle to complement the enrichment program offered to our members. Students in the Golf Program will build self-confidence and develop positive character traits while learning the game in a safe, supportive environment.

The Golf Program is dedicated to exposing the game of golf, providing golf-course access for members and preparing members for competitive golf. Members are provided with opportunities to reach their full athletic potential, give back to the golf community and explore other career endeavors related to golf.

TWLC Weekly Programs

Career Orientation Program: The Career Orientation Program offers a basic introduction to golf to visiting elementary school students. The exposure to putting and the full swing establish a firm foundation to learning the game's fundamentals. Opportunities for further growth in the game of golf are offered to students through participation in TWLC Weekend Golf events. To become involved, please click here.

Career Exploration Program: Students enrolled in a TWLC core program learn the basics of golf instruction through fun and innovative drills, exercises and competitions. Fundamentals of the different shots are examined and dissected to analyze the key aspects of executing a proper golf shot. Students will cover the history of golf, the rules of golf, on-course golf etiquette and basic character education associated with golf. The TWLC has developed three classes dedicated to game improvement (Golf Academy, Short Game Extravaganza and Full Swing Fundamentals) that cover in-depth techniques, strategies and methodologies. To become involved, please click here.

TWLC Weekend Golf

Saturday Golf Clinics: Saturday golf clinics enable TWLC members to continue the progression of learning the game of golf. Held bi-monthly, with two sessions available -- morning and afternoon, students can practice the fundamentals through ground-breaking drills and electrifying competitions. The clinics serve as training for students working through the Player Development Program or preparing for high school competition or amateur tournament play.

Special Events: TWLC members involved in the Golf Program have the opportunity to participate in unique special events offered nowhere else. These events are intended to generate interest through a variety of specially-designed golf events that may include an entirely different sport. Past special events have included: Junior Girl's Golf Clinic, Baseball/Softball/Golf Clinic, Junior Golf Exhibition (Nationwide Tour professionals assist in event), SCGA's Jr. Golf Summit and the TWLC Drive, Chip and Putt Competition.

Check out our TWLC calendar for upcoming events.

Player Development Program

The TWLC Player Development Program builds honesty, integrity and sportsmanship all while honing your golf knowledge and skills. A tiered structural design takes student golfers through three levels of the Program: Level 1 - Tour Class, Level 2 - Players Class and Level 3 - Masters Class. Each level contains progressive goals and milestones for students to reach. Completion of the Masters Class reveals a student's competency in all the facets of the game of golf. TWLC members in the Players Class are provided membership to the TWLC Golf Club, which includes access to SCGA's Youth On Course program (a youth initiative which facilitates affordable golf access and reduced fees for range balls at participating courses).

Golf Access Program: TWLC members in the Level 2 - Players Class of the Player Development Program are offered golf-course outings with a TWLC golf professional and get to play some of Orange County's finest golf courses. Rounds of nine holes are played year-round, based on golf course and tee-time availability. All members in the Level 2 - Players Class must establish a handicap through junior membership of the SCGA's Youth On Course initiative and by joining the TWLC Golf Club.
